Anti-Gun = Pro Undead

Hello! We have survived yet another apocalypse while predicting another. What I blog about today however may not be considered an apocalypse, it is certainly a path that we as Americans should not travel down. That is the current movement of banning assault rifles and other firearms that are considered by some to be too excessive.

On a somewhat separate tangent I would like to apologize for not keeping up with my blogging. I have increased the number of classes and therefore have reduced my spare time. This spare time has been well spent with countless hours of Skyrim and Doctor Who. One of my classes this last semester was CMLT-C190 Introduction to Film. It has currently opened my eyes to a new way of viewing cinema and as a response to the above paragraph, I will argue the need for "excessive" firearms by comparing two films. As in any other blog of mine, the zombie apocalypse will be the center of these two films.

Before I start, I would like to say that the Sandy Hook Elementary School Shooting was a very tragic and horrific event. I am not trying to belittle or make fun of this event in any way. This blog is and always will be dedicated to the looming zombie apocalypse and does not condone shooting anything living. Unless of course the virus turns people into rage crazy people like in 28 Days Later & 28 Weeks Later.

Speaking of 28 Days Later, this film takes place in London after the release of a deadly virus that turns people into crazy rage infected plague carriers that turn people with just one single drop of infected blood. In less than twenty eight days later, hence the title, the whole British Isle is quarantined due to the infection. The main characters make it past every monster ridden obstacle, but are stopped when they come across Christopher Eccleston and his band of vigilante gun wielding commandos.

Here is why this fictional version of Britain fell to their version of the zombie apocalypse: firearms are banned. Think about it. If firearms were not banned in England, the spread of the infection would have been a lot slower and quite possibly prevented. How can I prove this?

George Romero in his film Night of the Living Dead (1968), provides the proof that having firearms strengthens a nation against the looming threat of the zombie apocalypse. At the very end of the film the protagonist Ben survives the night and views the saviors of humanity in action.

That salvation rests in the hands of both hillbillies and law enforcement as they clear the fields of Pennsylvania of any signs of the undead.

Guns don't kill people, zombies kill people. Guns kill zombies. These two movies are proof that having firearms are the key to surviving a zombie apocalypse.

As a side note, I have recently helped a good college buddy of mine by editing his novel, "The Book of Roland". Marty Chapin has been working on it for years and has finally published it on Amazon.com. For a short time, the book is being given away for free as a promotion, but it won't last for long. It is the tale of two people trying to survive a zombie apocalypse inside of our home state of Indiana.

As always, remember: The Zombie Apocalypse isn't a matter of IF, it's a matter of WHEN!
